Felicity stumbled into the room she shared with Rachel. It was the middle of the afternoon but she was already tired. That morning all the archeaology majors had to attend a lecture about Latin verbs and how to conjugate them. She had learned the language since primary school. Why would she still have to sit through the most boring topic? Not to mention the professor who gave the lecture had a thick accent from Germany. Talk about hard to understand. Felicity will admit her eyes started to drop as the professor talked. The professor was visiting from some University in Munich, German. That was a cool aspect of this University. Not only are the students from all over the world, the professors are too. They even get visiting professors from the best universities around the world.
Felicity tossed her backpack onto the bed she maintained. She checked around the room. At the moment it was empty, did Rachel also have a class that morning. Felicity couldn't remember. She hoped though she had not awoken her room mate as she got ready that morning. Truthfully, Felicity wished she didn't even go to that darn lecture. It was a waste of one of the mornings she could sleep in. She didn't have many mornings to do that. Usually she had to go on some trip with the archaeology program to a dig.
Felicity had spent all of last summer along the Mediterranean at sites that went along with the ancient roman and Greek civilizations. It was a great trip, she was sure her room mate enjoyed the dorm to herself too. Felicitys side of the room had pictures littering the wall of all the places she had gone to. It pictured maybe seven countries. Still, she wanted to go on more. She stood and admired the pictures for a few moments. Her favorite was the one of her doing the touristy thing and trying to hold up the leaning tower of Pisa. It was hilarious to look at and it was also a symbol of a treasured memory.
She slunk into her desk chair. It was black leather and it spun. That was the best feature of it. Felicity grabbed the book on her desk. ”The Odyessey”, she had been trying to read it more and understand the Greek writing style. More of what a literature major, or whatever you call them, would do. Felicity was doing it for fun. She flipped open the book to the dog-eared page and started spinning in her chair while reading.
